My son smokes meat on a trader grill he said it worked great, never had to take readings, easy to use. There should be a gauge/ battery charge indicator for the thermometer itself not just one light for the charger to tell you the AAA battery is still good. The app gives you detailed and easy to understand instructions on how to insert the probe for best results - make sure you follow those instructions. The glove/apron/whatever the seller adds seems to be just a gimmick, but the MEATER+ stands alone as a great value for the $99 price point. It produced a perfect cook. The steaks were perfect medium after the rest. I highly recommend this thing to even the most experienced hobby chef. Itll help you get even better results. Its a good thing it was a prime rib that required some time. I also loved the choose your meat so it has a good idea of what you are doing. It was a bit cumbersome, there is a fair bit of work on the phone to get it going. It'll help you getting even betterresults. It will help youget even more out of your meat. It’s the perfect tool for a hobby chef or even an experienced chef.
