They are the perfect blend of waterproof, toe-protecting, and durable. I love the rubber molded footbed. The fact that its waterproof is a huge plus. These shoes have survived hikes, scout campouts, pools, lakes, and all kinds of fun & wonderful summer activities. I also ordered a size 4 for my oldest and that is where the size differed most length and width. The shoe seems durable and the Velcro is strong. Very durable, good ventilation and comfortable. I am very pleased with the quality of these shoes. They have survived a lot of hiking, camping, and swimming.
