I tested the can to make sure it sprayed, but we did not test on a Fire. otherwise seems great. It is very handy and easy to use. We bought this specifically for'stove top' fire protection. In my opinion, this unit is not an appropriate size or volume to be used for 'room protection' Keeping this unit easily accessible is very important. Good luck to you. I like most people, burn candles for way longer than you are supposed to. I don't think this is a good idea.
